Production motorhome rental in Los Angeles

What it is for

A production motorhome is the room a basecamp does not otherwise have. Forty feet of it: somewhere for a lead to sit between setups, for hair and make-up to work with proper light and a mirror instead of a folding chair in a parking structure, for wardrobe to lay a rack out, for a producer to take a call that is not happening next to a generator.

Most productions put cast in it. Plenty use one as the office instead, because a coach has power, climate control, a table and a door that closes, which is more than a pop-up gives you in the Valley in August. On a long shoot it stops being a vehicle and becomes the room everything routes through.

Interior layout is the thing to ask about first, because forty feet can be arranged several ways and the arrangement is what decides whether it works for your day. Slide-outs, bed and seating count, make-up station, generator, and how the coach is powered at your location are all confirmed against the specific unit going out on your dates. Ask on the call and we will send you photographs of the coach we are quoting.

Why there is depth here

Cinecraft did not add motorhomes one at a time. It bought two other motorhome companies, and their coaches came with them. That is the whole reason this part of the fleet is the size it is, and it is worth knowing when you are the third production this month asking about the same week.

It matters to you for one reason, which is availability. A yard with a single coach has to go and look. A yard that absorbed two fleets can usually answer on the first call, and can usually find you a second one when the schedule grows a department. How many are actually free on your dates is still a real question with a real answer — we check the dates, not the brochure.

What we will not do is quote you a coach and deliver a different one. If you book a layout, that is the layout that turns up, and if the unit changes before your dates we will tell you before the day.
